The Clean Air PCR Enclosure is an easy-to-install laboratory portable workstation for polymerase chain reaction (PCR).

PCR is a widely used technique in laboratories specifically working with DNA and RNA and it consists in multiplying specific DNA regions from samples, so that they can be studied in more detail. However, PCR is highly sensitive and contaminated amplicons can result from carryover or cross contamination.

The Clean Air PCR Enclosure provides an enclosed environment for the handling of these sensitive PCR reagents, reducing the risk of sample cross contamination during the PCR experimentation.

The PCR Hood operates as a positive pressure HEPA filtered system that creates a continual ISO Class 5 clean air blanket over the sample preparation area.

During the operation of this laboratory safety enclosure, air is taken from the laboratory and filtered through a 2 stage filter system into the cabinet and back out to the laboratory, and the laminar flow is monitored continuously to ensure that no airborne contaminants can enter the Clean air enclosure.

In addition, the PCR station also features a UV-C germicidal lamp tested to ensure a proven 254nm wavelength for bio-decontamination, in other words, prevention of bacterial growth, before and after use.

The Clean Air PCR workstation is a lightweight and portable PCR workstation with an ergonomic design, therefore, it can be easily moved from one bench to another and it also offers maximum comfort for the analyst.
